The Riverside Cottage Rental has been a long time dream of mine. I began the renovations on October 1, 2008 and had an open house on September 20, 2009.
The work (with the exception of the rewiring & plumbing) has all been done by myself, Dave, our children and the help of some very devoted family & friends.
We took it down to the bare studs. For the most part, one woman ripping & tearing, hammering & sawing, knocking down walls, building beams, some thought I just was nuts! When I came up with an unusual idea, Dave was always by my side to help me figure out how to make my vision a reality. ( for instance - the "grapevine railing to the loft"). My brother was here towards the end when I was running out of steam to push me on. To all of you Thank You from the bottom of my heart for all your help and encouragement.
So, for those of you who want a unique & different place to get away to, and also want a little peace & quiet too. It's quaint, cozy, relaxing & it's been designed by a determined woman with a vision of affordable family vacations & weekend getaways.
This is the place... Come, check it out. I even have books, toys, games, & coloring books for the kids. Cards & puzzles too, don't forget to bring your favorite book!
Come for overnight, come for a weekend or a whole week. Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter we are open all year!
